January in Our Classroom

4th Feb 2026

We were busy bees this January and the bad weather didn’t stop us having fun!🐝

We started Hurling and Camogie with Paddy and have been learning the ready position, the lock position, and practicing dribbling and hitting the sliotar. We are having great fun and look forward to it every Friday!

We are really enjoying Music with Brian. We have been learning to keep rhythm and beat, and we love singing songs like Red Is the Rose, I’ll Tell Me Ma, Danny Boy and many more.

In class, we learned all about the Post Office through our reading. We loved playing post office during playtime and drama. We learned how to deliver post, used real stamps, and even posted letters in our very own school post box. We also enjoyed dressing up as postmen and postwomen — it was so much fun!

We also made some winter polar bears using paint and print. Look how they turned out!

We had six children take part in Show and Tell. We loved hearing what the children had to say about what they brought in, and all the interesting questions and engagement that came from it.

We visited the Church where we said a prayer. We have been working very hard on practicing and saying our prayers and are doing a wonderful job.

And that’s just a little snippet of what we got up to this month. Here’s to a fun February ahead!
